It is with a heavy heart that I share the somber news from Flights of Fancy. Yesterday, I bid farewell to Violet the Chicky.
.
Despite her valiant efforts during a challenging molt that began in late August, her immune system faltered, leading to a series of health setbacks. With dedicated care, she regrew her beautiful feathers and regained weight, but new challenges arose. Even with veterinary intervention and treatments, the turn of the New Year brought a significant decline, prompting the difficult decision yesterday to bring her back to the vet and to peacefully let her go.
.
Violet was more than a beloved chicken; she was my friend and the sweetest companion from the moment she and her sisters came home. Her favorite moments were the quiet snuggle naps—whether on my shoulder, in my lap, or even nestled in my pocket. Her joy extended to epic dust baths in the garden, interrupted only by sun-soaked snoozes.
.
Her absence leaves a void, and my world feels undeniably emptier with her gone.
.
Give your furry or feathered friends an extra hug tonight, the time we get is never enough🐥❤️

Plus the last honey mulled wine kit, and the last pomander kit

There are only 3 bath truffles left just waiting for someone’s stocking

All scents of the award-winning honey body cream in both sizes, along with both scents of foaming honey salt scrub and all of the honey bath salts scents.

All lip balm flavours were restocked, beard oil, and beard balm are available in the bestselling scents.

Plus lotions bars and more.

Hello 👋 - local beekeeper here.
.
The bees have outgrown their current locations and I am looking to add two bee yards of 10 to 15 hives in 2024 in Loretto (or the surrounding area). This is a great way to help out the bees, in exchange for some honey.
.
I am a registered beekeeper with OMAFRA, a member of the Ontario Beekeepers Association and carry all required insurance.
.
Suitable properties should be 5 acres + (no corn, wheat or soybeans), and the area where the hives will be placed requires vehicle access.
.
Ideal locations have wild areas with lots of foliage/wild flowers, access to a natural water source such as a pond or creek.
.
Hoping to finalize locations by the end of March (splits typically start in May). If you are interested in learning more please send an email to flightsoffancy.hbc@gmail.com.

Thanks to your amazing support this year, at the honey stand, at the markets and online orders, our honey is vanishing faster than Santa on Christmas Eve.

This is a message I wasn’t expecting to post since the apiary blossomed to 17 hives this season ( and boy did they keep me busy), I was expecting to have honey into the Spring, BUT… we are almost out!
.
The honey stand has just been restocked with some of the last 500g, and 1kg, jars and I’ve added stocking stuffer sized 330g jars.
.
Museum of Dufferin’s Holiday Treasures Market has just a few jars left as well – they reopen on Wednesday and run through to Sunday Dec. 10th.
