Hot Apple Cider & Honey Vodka
The perfect drink for sitting round a bonfire or sitting infront of a woodstove, to warm up on a crisp fall evening. Also the perfect excuss to for a trip to your local apple orchard and to buy some local wildflower honey - In our opinion (might be a little biased), raw local honey harvested in small batches makes the best honey vodka - ever.

Cuisine American
- 2/3 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 inch Piece of orange zest pith removed ( optional, you can also use citrus infused honey and forgo this peel)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1.5 cups vodka
- 3 Apple cider fresh from a local orchard is best
- 1 Apple as garnishes, these are optional but highly recommended.
Honey Vodka - Make head
Combine all ingredients except for the vodka and apple cider, in a saucepan and cook over medium heat stirring frequently, until the moisture has evaporated and it becomes a syrup, about 5 minutes. Let cool with the peel and stick left in. Remove any white foam.
Once it has cooled remove the peel and the stick. Then combine the syrup and vodka in a sealable glass jar, seal and shake. You can serve immediately, but for a better flavour, allow it to rest for a minimum of 12 hours. Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
For Hot Apple Cider
Heat your Apple cider in a saucepan over medium heat, removing it just before it begins to boil.
As it cools slightly, slice an Apple and get your cinnamon sticks ready as garnishes, these are optional but highly recommended.
Mix your honey vodka and hot apple cider to your preferred ratio/taste, add your garnishes and serve.
