Crafting a Harvest Season Charcuterie Board Featuring Apple Honey & Cheese Spread

A harvest season charcuterie board is an excellent way to celebrate the bounty of the season. It’s a great opportunity to showcase local ingredients and produce. Here are some tips on how to create a beautiful and delicious charcuterie board:

Start with a Good Board:

Choose a wooden board or a slate serving platter as the base for your charcuterie board. The board should be large enough to accommodate all the ingredients and leave enough space for easy access to each item.

Choose Local Ingredients:

To celebrate the harvest season, choose fresh, locally sourced ingredients such as artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and fresh fruits. The Apple Honey & Cheese Spread is an excellent addition to the board, highlighting the flavors of the season.

Add Color and Texture:

A charcuterie board should be visually appealing, with a mix of colors and textures. Include a variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and crackers to add some variety to the board. You can also include some fall-themed decor such as small pumpkins or leaves.

Arrange the Ingredients:

Arrange the ingredients in groups, with the larger items such as cheeses and meats as the centerpiece. Use small bowls to hold the honeycomb and other smaller items like olives or nuts. Add crackers or bread around the edge of the board, and add some height with rolled meats or sliced fruits.

Serve with Wine:

A charcuterie board is perfect for a relaxing evening with friends or family, and wine is the perfect complement. Serve with a crisp white or a fruity red wine to enhance the flavors of the charcuterie board.

Creating a harvest season charcuterie board featuring the delicious Apple Honey & Cheese Spread is a great way to celebrate the flavors of the season. With locally sourced ingredients, a beautiful presentation, and a glass of wine, you can create a memorable and delicious evening with friends and family.

Recommended Pairings To Serve With The Apple Honey & Cheese Spread:

Some recommended pairings to serve with the Apple Honey & Cheese Spread are:

  1. Cured Meats: Thinly sliced prosciutto or salami pairs perfectly with the sweet and savory flavors of the spread.

  2. Fresh Fruit: Slices of juicy pears or crisp apples, and fresh figs add a refreshing contrast to the richness of the cheese spread.

  3. Nuts: A selection of nuts such as toasted almonds, walnuts, or hazelnuts, complement the slivered almonds in the cheese spread and add a satisfying crunch to the board.

  4. Crusty Bread or Crackers: A variety of crusty bread, crackers or crostini can be used to spread the cheese on and add some texture to the board.

  5. Micro-batch Honey: Drizzle some micro-batch honey over the cheese spread for an extra layer of sweetness and to enhance the natural flavors of the honeycomb.

  6. Wine: A crisp white wine like a Sauvignon Blanc or a fruity red like a Pinot Noir are excellent choices to complement the flavors of the charcuterie board.
